Are we "observing" or "celebrating" this year on October 24 the 79th ^Anniversary of the founding of the UN? Many are concerned with the above dilemma and believe that "we observe" instead of "we celebrate" is realistic and sincere, because with what is happening and taking place in the UN itself, with its 193 Member States, especially the five Permanent Members of the Security Council, but also in other international organizations and in the world, with war tragedies, hunger, poverty, refugees, drugs, crimes, social exclusion and everything else contained in Pandora's Box, where hope has also been introduced to the international stock market, can any reasonable person speak of "celebration", which was valid for some years after its establishment and achievements, especially in the social, economic and cultural sectors, but along the way was ignored, belittled and undermined by some Powerful people, etc., justifying the wise ancient Greek saying "power corrupts"?

The establishment of the UN was divinely inspired, at the initiative of the late and great President of the United States Franklin Delano Roosevelt, et al., after the unimaginable tragedy of World War II with approximately 80 million human victims, plus the other tragic consequences, with the main responsibility of the insane and corrupt Hitler, because it created for the first time after the bankruptcy of the League, a rational framework for the protection and consolidation of international peace, human rights, development and progress. Its Charter constitutes an important political, universal "Gospel"! And democratically and peace-loving peoples were enthusiastic! However, in the process it proved to be largely an illusion, a chimera, a utopia, especially with regard to the consolidation of world peace. The dark warmongering circles, which contributed to the dissolution of the League, which among other things did not approve the abolition of war in general as proposed by the American and French secretaries Kellogg and Briand, invented the small-member Security Council with the infamous VETO, which is responsible for many war tragedies. This is the Achilles heel of the UN! Unfortunately, some Member States do not respect and do not observe the Charter, this global "Gospel", trying to monopolize the power of the Organization.

Why, for example, Stalin and Churchill with the Secret Moscow Pact, in October 1944, divided the Balkans into spheres of influence, as if they were fields or animals, and caused the civil war in Greece, and the UN after its establishment 1945 didn't do anything to stop him? Because they created a bipolar system of implicit governance of the World, the Cold War, and humanity mourned millions of victims due to strategies, etc. interests of some Powerful (Stalin, Churchill, etc.)? Why in the Korean War, where due to deadlock in the Security Council, the General Assembly approved the sending of an expeditionary force to Korea with the Uniting for Peace Resolution? What kind of peace did he establish?

And then Vietnam, Afghanistan, North America, Africa, Middle East, etc. Because the Strong established NATO, which theoretically represents the UN regionally, but in the process tends to replace it, and the opponents the Warsaw Pact, and while the latter was disbanded, the former continues unabated, despising the UN Charter and International Agreements (Minsk etc.); Why did the UN tolerate the NATO attack on ex-Yugoslavia and break it up? And in other cases in the Middle East? And we see the tragic end.

Also, for fifty whole years, Turkey has maintained occupying troops in the Republic of Cyprus, a member of the EU, in violation of dozens of UN resolutions, International Law, the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and, even without having signed UNCLOS, implements a neo-imperialist policy against Greece, reaching the unimaginable point of audacity and illegality to ask the UN General Assembly to recognize the pseudo-state in the Republic of Cyprus. Furthermore, it maintains troops in Albania and is involved militarily in other countries in the wider region, playing the role of provocateur.

Why does the UN tolerate the non-payment of German War Reparations to Greece, which the Nazis destroyed, while other countries claimed them? They forget that without the unparalleled heroic GREEK NATIONAL RESISTANCE, the Nazis would have enslaved the entire world. Amnesia, ingratitude or malicious intent? Why does it not decide on the return of the Parthenon Marbles? Why does it tolerate the conversion of Hagia Sophia and other Christian churches into mosques?

Why does it allow 30 million Kurds to be stateless as well as millions of Palestinians?

Why does the UN (and also the EU and NATO) tolerate all the above tragedies? And now, in addition to the aforementioned tragedies, the UN, the EU and NATO are indifferently watching the war tragedies in Ukraine and Gaza, with hundreds of thousands of human victims, including tens of thousands of children. Can't the above organizations stop these tragedies? Are they afraid or do they patronize the immoral interests of warmongering circles in order to provoke a general escalation where they will invest their immoral and illegal interests?

In the Congo crisis, the then great UN Secretary-General Dag Hammarskjold went personally to resolve the issue, disagreeing with the two Superpowers, and was killed in a plane "crash". The other great Secretary-General Boutros Boutros-Ghali released the famous Agenda for Peace, which if implemented would have prevented war, but unfortunately it remained in some drawers, and his term was not renewed!

And something else also serious. On December 5, 1988, the General Assembly adopted a Declaration which, among other things, strengthens the powers of the Secretary General, changing the "may" to "should" regarding the possibilities he has from the Charter to take decisions. Have the post-1989 GCs implemented it? Finally, is the fact that important peace leaders, Olaf Palme, Martin Luther King, Lambrakis et al., related to the above tragic events? were peace murdered along with them? Could it be that, as authoritative journalistic sources have revealed, the war in Ukraine has generated $250 billion in profits for American weapons systems companies by 2024, what kind of peace to protect? That is, people no longer have value in front of the profits of inhuman circuits. And the UN, undermined, plays the ungrateful role of "Pilate", and the peoples, like new Christs, are led to the martyrdom of Calvary.

The late and eminent American journalist and author Walter Lippmann, in the context of the Cold War, in 1947, had prophetically written that this War entailed many dangers with the reckless and ungrounded way in which the Great Powers were using the UN, concluding: “The Great Powers appear to be acting under instructions to treat the UN as expendable material in our dispute with Russia. It is regrettable. But the UN, which must be preserved as the last best hope for humanity to settle the conflict and achieve peace, is being gnawed away… It is implied in the policy (of the US State Department) that the UN will be sidelined like the League of Nations or transformed into an anti-Soviet coalition. In either case the UN will be destroyed.”

Finally, in conclusion, without ignoring the valuable contribution of the UN even in the political and military fields, when, however, the interests of the Permanent Members of the Security Council coincide, do the famous ancient Latin sayings "Quintilla Prudentia Regitur Orbis" apply? little prudence rules the world), then, if there is no resistance from genuine democratic forces, the world is led to destruction by corrupt authoritarian and profit-seeking circles, who do not believe in God, who have the illusion that they are replacing him on Earth, do not believe in values ​​and ideals, thus justifying Orwell, who prophesied that in our time war will mean peace, and Darwin who said about the predominance of the strongest. And this is exactly what happens in the UN, which they use, as we said before, as "Pilate", but also as an alibi and a showcase for deception! What a tragedy!

As for the causes of this decline, many attribute them to the prevailing system of stiff competition (and not rivalry as our wise ancient ancestors taught) which causes insecurity, fear, fanaticism, violence, etc., and with the materialistic insanity, the para-education, and subculture etc. of media etc. that accompany him, have created a regime of cannibalism, jungle, predominance of primitive instincts. The long-lost religious leaders and others have contributed to this. with the absolute dogmatism, opacity and rejection of science.

And on the other hand: If the Member States of the UN want their Organization to function beneficially for the entire World, without wars, hunger, poverty, refugees, etc., which we mentioned above, and to consolidate peace, human rights, etc. .etc., and not have the bitter fate of the League of Nations, which will mean World War II and chaos, then they must: 1) Agree to ban war in general, "outlaw it" and abolish weapons of mass destruction destruction, 2) To implement the Peace Guide of Fr. where the refugee comes from, 3) To adopt radical measures for Climate Change, 4) To revive the Peace Movement on a global level! 5) To make the teaching of the Charter compulsory in all Member State Schools as well as the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights, promoting secularism, equality and meritocracy, 6) To ensure that the Representatives of the States- Members of the UN have the appropriate qualifications and not to be irrelevant and subordinate, as well as the Executives and employees in the Organization and its Organizations to function with dignity and properly preventing parasitism so that the Organization does not lose its credibility, 7) To urge the Member States to visit the Headquarters of the Organization and its political, religious, etc. Organizations. leaders as well as pupils and students and to conduct relevant competitions with prizes for the latter.

Finally, we repeat that if Planet Earth is finally destroyed, it will not be the ozone hole that is to blame, but the "hole" in the consciousness of especially the Powerful.-
