WHY WAS FRONTEX DEVELOPED AT THE BORDER OF GREECE WITH SKOPJE

The EU's Migration Policy has been, by far, the greatest failure of the Union's Foreign Policy. It has not only constituted a political Waterloo, but has also placed in immediate and grave danger both the unity of the EU and the continued preservation, in the future, of its religious, cultural and civilizational composition.

Since 2011, due to the civil war in Syria, uncontrolled flows of millions of migrants have begun to appear, initially towards Turkey and then through it to the rest of Europe. In an attempt to deal with this development, the EU made the mistake of turning a “listening ear” to the cries of the European Left that “the sea has no borders” and “we will not make Europe a fortress”, of succumbing to the pressures exerted by it and of allowing the “invasion” of almost all European countries, of millions of refugees not only from Syria but also from countries that were not related to the Syrian civil war (Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, African countries).

As expected, among the real refugees, many thousands of fanatical Muslims, criminals, international murderers, ISIS terrorists, agents of foreign powers and international extremists also infiltrated. When the countries of Europe realized the danger they faced, they defied the Schengen Treaty, closed their land borders and tried to control the sea borders as well, upgrading, from 2016, FRONTEX (European Border and Coast Guard Agency), which would assist coastal countries in controlling their sea borders. This policy resulted in Greece and, secondarily, Italy remaining the gateways of entry for the aforementioned “immigrants” to Europe. At the same time, they tolerated Turkey channeling hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants into Greece, mainly to the islands.

Mistake or collusion?

On Thursday, April 20, 2023, the deployment of FRONTEX (European Border and Coast Guard Agency) forces began on the Greek border with Skopje, in order to contribute to more effective border control of the neighboring country regarding migration flows and the fight against illegal immigration.

This development, which, obviously, took place with the consent, or even the tolerance, of the Greek Government and without being particularly highlighted by the Greek media, naturally raises the following reasonable questions.

          Was it yet another failure of Greek Foreign Policy, yet another easy mistake, or yet another deliberate action by the Greek government? What necessity imposed the deployment of FRONTEX Forces on the border of Skopje with Greece? From what migratory flows, from what invasion of illegal immigrants is Skopje at risk? Even if we assume that the Skopjeans consider themselves at risk from fanatical illegal immigrants with a Muslim religion, or terrorist activity, the FRONTEX Forces should have been deployed on the border with Kosovo and not with Greece.

Therefore, we do not need to waste a large amount of gray matter to understand that the installation of FRONTEX in Skopje seeks to prevent the movement of illegal immigrants from Greece to European countries and to trap them in our country. The episodes in Gevgelija have certainly not been erased from our memory.

Implications for Greece from the permanent settlement of illegal immigrants

Unfortunately, since 2015, after all Greek governments accepted that Greece would initially become a place of simple parking for hundreds of thousands of illegal invaders - immigrants, they finally decided to make it a place of their permanent settlement. They make minimal returns, lavishly grant political asylum and Greek citizenship, and the current government houses them in modern buildings, and even settles them in areas sensitive to our National Defense (Evros, Islands), with all that this implies for national Defense and Security. It is impossible not to realize that, by settling them in organized structures on the Greek-Turkish borders, it is creating, in practice, something analogous to the old Turkish Cypriot enclaves in Cyprus. As was demonstrated during the invasion operations, these enclaves not only hosted and protected Turkish agents, saboteurs and terrorists, not only did they welcome the Turkish Paratroopers and other forces of the invaders, but they also forced the Greek Forces to try to eliminate them, thus disrupting their efforts and preventing them from successfully confronting the invasion forces.

The same and worse will happen with the structures in Evros and the Islands, which the Turks will have already converted into bridgeheads and our defending Forces will be required, at the same time as repelling the invaders, to eliminate the aforementioned bridgeheads. However, there will also be women and children in these, as a result of which our country will be accused of committing war crimes because it is bombing civilians. Then, it will also have to face the global outcry, suitably incited by Turkey.

Even worse, by granting Greek citizenship, indiscriminately, easily and with summary procedures, to illegal immigrants who permanently reside in Greece, financing them and, in general, tolerating all their delinquent behavior, the respective Greek governments have already detonated a time bomb that threatens to destroy future generations. Because, combined with the low birth rate and the mass emigration of Greeks abroad, they will become a minority in our country. However, this is what the EU demands and to this, the Greek governments, unfortunately, obey without objection, indifferent to the consequences that will arise. The above behavior is due to the implementation of political expediencies, even if these do not serve national interests. Therefore, it is imperative that those who love Greece and are interested in its survival confront the problem, decisively and through political means. If nothing else, the upcoming elections provide an opportunity to render "Caesar's things to Caesar" and to exert pressure to revise the erroneous policies and practices of the state that is murdering the nation.
